Women in International Business and Management

The current situation and status of Women in the International Organizations is the aims for this essay (TFM) and it is revised from two points of view:

  • Firstly, the incorporation of women in managerial positions in International Organizations, and the result of her managing.
  • Secondly, the review of the International projects that are being developed based on Woman.

The objectives of the present essay are:

  • Identification of the appropriate legislative proposals to balances the policies in the European Area and in The International Organizations.
  • The facts of women management and promotion of women in the boards of directors of the companies; and the results, as improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency.

It has been observed that the market itself is self-regulating, but the incorporation of women to lower position is still little, just  9% as CEO in the company’s international scope. The participation of women in management is recommended by the result. It will be convenient to demystify some issues to be discussed during the essay and support from the Law and Economics promotion of women in senior management positions.

This study is a first approach is: What have been the most important predisposing factors for the incorporation of women into workforce and managerial position?

The three main factors are:

  • Legal factors.
  • The enhancement factor of economic-financial ratios in private companies.
  • The incorporation of program, projects and plans with a common “women” in international non-profit organizations.

A second approach we have considered, is to determine what have been equality policies and programs that have been implemented in both developed and developing.

The authors have been studied in this essay-TFM, have not identify different models between men and women. The findings demonstrate that a leadership and managerial model can be identified.

Highlights:

  1. The gender difference between men and women managers can generate different models of leadership and results.
  2. The development of a country determines or not the greater involvement of women in management.
  3. It is the law and the legal action that favors the middle entry of women to management positions, within the preventing, warrants and guarantees.

While policies aimed at improving women’s access to leadership positions, such as conciliation and fees are justified on the grounds of compliance with the Equality Act, but are purely business factors, which consolidate and economically justified, the adoption of policies on equality, profitability and efficiency. It has been researched that companies with women in positions of responsibility and leadership, obtain better financial results.

In 2012 the incorporation of women in top management is only 9%.
